Christmas tree, real or fake? Is a Christmas tree a must-have for the winter holidays and creating a Christmas atmosphere or is it not necessary for you?
Fake! I remember the first year my husband and I were together he insisted on a real tree. I loved the idea and we got one. Fun! Except no it wasn't. The mess was insane. The needles were everywhere. I don't know if we got the wrong kind of tree or what but it was horrendous and I vowed never again! Since then we've always had fake and that's the way it will stay until I can pay someone to clean up after that damn tree.
Holiday drinks. Coca Cola, eggnog, or hot chocolate? Or maybe something different? What do you drink on Christmas?
I put hot chocolate mix in the kids Christmas Eve boxes every year but I don't care for it. I do love a good soda, but I don't drink coke. I've never had eggnog. It doesn't sound appetizing at all.
What is your own Christmas tradition?
The Christmas Eve boxes. Everyone still looks forward to them and the little kids love them.
Do you like to stay home on Christmas or to travel during the winter holidays?
We stay home. When our kids were small we used to house hop and I hated it. I could never do anything fun with my own kids on Christmas Eve because we were bouncing from house to house. So I told my husband I couldn't do it anymore. We started going to just his grandma's house on Christmas Eve and we were out of there long before bed time to ensure we could do Santa cookies and Christmas Eve boxes with the kids. We don't go anywhere on Christmas Day unless it's to my grandma's house.
Snow or no snow? Is snow necessary for you have Christmas mood? Do you have snow in your town during the winter holidays?
I love snow on Christmas! It's not as common now as it was when I was growing up and I kind of miss it. There's nothing better than Christmas shopping in the snow too. It adds to the magic.

Ginger cookies or sugar cookies? Or are you not "a cookie person"?
I usually make sugar cookies at Christmas time. I'm not really a ginger fan period.
Do you prefer to watch Christmas movies or listen to Christmas music during the holidays?
Both please! When I'm in the kitchen or driving in my car I like to listen to music. But late at night when I've put the kids to bed, my favorite thing is curling up on the couch to watch a "grown up" Christmas movie. Something that wouldn't hold the kids attention. Think Hallmark Christmas movies.
Must-have meals for your festive dinner?
I really don't have anything that comes to mind other than deviled eggs. This year we're making potato soup and chili! Nothing is better in winter than a good soup.
Do you wear "ugly" sweaters, fancy dresses, or pajamas?

An angel or a star as the decoration for the top of your Christmas tree? What looks better and cozier?
Actually, I don't use a tree topper. I do love an angel though.
Decorate early or decorate on December 23?
I actually don't know a single person in real life that waits until the 23rd. I decorate on November 1st. Why? Because I love Christmas decorations and I want to enjoy them as long as possible.
Do you celebrate New Year's Eve?
Not really. We watch the ball drop and have a little party with the kids but that's about it.
