I'm not going to pretend like my car is always pristine and that I know everything there is to know about keeping a car organized, but in my 21 years of being a mom I have learned a few things along the way that have saved my sanity. No matter if it's driving the 16 hours to Florida or running errands, I keep my car as organized as possible to make things run that much smoother!
Everyone knows there's nothing worse than needing an item that you know is in your vehicle but you can't remember where it is or you can't find it because it got kicked under a seat.
I cannot stress to you enough how many times keeping this thing stocked has saved my sanity while I'm out with my kids. One day Maggie got pee on her shorts, I had an extra pair in the caddy. Forgot to restock the diaper bag with a diaper and snacks, not an issue!
I change out the diapers as he grows out of them, switch out the clothes for seasonally appropriate pieces, and rotate toys and snacks. If I'm just going to be in town, sometimes I don't even bring my diaper bag with me, I just rely on the caddy! I'm excited to take it to Disney next year, I just keep thinking of all the room we are going to save by not having to have a diaper bag packed full of things all the time.

If you take nothing else away from this post, please take this! The amount of times I've been glad to have this thing is shocking. While we're out running errands I pull into McDonalds, grab Maggie a happy meal, and then pull into a parking spot to set it up for her. Now, the downside is that it doesn't hold every single cup size. I've noticed that her kids Yeti is too big. But the Simple Modern tumblers she has fit in it nicely as far as insulated cups go. Anything other than insulated will fit just fine though.

If there's anything that drives me crazy in a car it's a kid constantly asking me to fix their iPad because they touched something on it and now they don't know how to get back to their game or show. So this is really a must if you don't want to do that either.
I plug in the iPad and she rides along in peace and so do I.
This is so important to me. I saw moms start posting these bags at the beginning of TikTok and loved the idea! In mine I keep gum, scissors, a cup holder for carts, hand sanitizer, and hair ties. I don't keep a lot in there just because I don't like to feel overwhelmed when I'm trying to find something.

This particular vacuum is rather small, it doesn't pick up huge messes if you have a bunch of kids, but
this one is a little more heavy duty! The one pictured is what I have and I love it! It's just enough for what I need and cleans out the car seats beautifully.

Trash Cans
I am a firm believer that your car will stay cleaner if you have a designated place for all the little pieces of trash that would otherwise be thrown on your floor. I know I was very guilty of this with my van and my wrangler. It wasn't until I got my
Jeep Grand Cherokee L that I bought these little trash cans for my doors and it helped the problem immensely.
My children are three years old and 15 months old so I don't really need a bigger garbage can than this. They don't open their own snacks or distribute their own food when we stop for a meal out. But when they're a little older, I intend on grabbing one of
these! I like that it can be anywhere in the car and can sit between their seats!
Those are some of the ways I keep my car organized and clean. I hope these suggestions helped you!
